These are the pairings I enjoy seeing work together. And they are not strictly romantic.

Again, this post isn’t just romantic relationships, but any “couple” on-screen/in books that (for me) work well together and make a good pair. But if you do see them as romantic, that’s fine. Ship whoever you want.

1.) Bellamy Blake & Clarke Griffin (The 100)

I hate that I have to defend myself first and foremost: I love Clarke and Bellamy’s relationship & the development it took to get to this point. I understand they haven’t shown romantic feelings for each other YET (unless you count small flirtations) but would like to see them that way. That’s not what this post is about though.

From a strong dislike to trusting each other over everyone else, these two need each other to get by. Bellamy always saw Clarke as his equal and I think that’s so important today. They lead together, go down together, everything they do they do together.

2.) The Golden Trio (Harry Potter)

I debated whether to put Harry and Ron or Harry and Hermione but realized when the three of them are together is when their bond is the strongest. Not to throw this out there again, but I grew up watching them face the hardest of times together, even when angst/jealousy got in the way.

I think the part in Order of Phoenix summed it up nicely when thinking of his friends, specifically Ron and Hermione, helped Harry cast Voldemort out of him. Most people hope to have friends as loyal and loving as these three.

3.) Korra & Asami (Legend of Korra)

Lots of people thought these two came out of nowhere, but from the end of season three all through season four the build up was there. Korra is one of my favorite LGBTQ+ characters (Clarke included) and I got super excited to see them end up together. It’s actually the reason I started watching it.

Relationship aside, they’re both badass characters who’ve fought and been there for each other, even after the love-triangle. I’m glad they maintained their friendship that eventually evolved into a romantic one.

4.) Rick Grimes & Michonne (The Walking Dead)

This made so much sense. Do I even need to explain how much this made sense? From Rick being hesitant to letting Michonne into the group and almost giving her up to the Governor to becoming her friend and partner. When Rick went too far, Michonne brought him back. Rick and Carl helped Michonne open-up and could rely on her for anything.

I squealed when they finally got together. Michonne’s interest came out first and then Jessie happened, but when it finally happened, it felt right.

5.) Steve Rogers & Bucky Barnes (Captain America)

They’re not just on the list because of the shirt. I legit love their relationship and got so happy when Winter Solider came out. I find it funny the movie some people complain about Steve the most is The Avengers…the only movie with him in without Bucky. He just needed Bucky there.

Winter Solider solidified that friendship shown in The First Avenger and Civil War brought it home. Steve Rogers would do anything for Bucky and puts him above the law. When Bucky finally started to remember Steve, it’s like nothing changed…aside from being on the run and Bucky’s memory problems.

6.) Jim & Pam Halpert (The Office)

Any time Jim and Pam are interacting I can’t help but smile, especially in the early Office days. After re-watching most of The Office I forgot how much I love the show and how much I love Jim and Pam.

They have similar tastes in humor and almost anything Jim did made Pam laugh. It’s one of the most agonizing build ups. I seriously just wanted to skip to the season they finally got together, but at the same time it’s so much fun watching them get closer and fall for one another.
