Top 6: April 2019 Favorites

A roundup of my favorite books, movies, shows, and miscellaneous from April.

Since I already have reviews out for most of these, I’ll try to keep it short.

1.) Rock of Ages Musical (Review

I was still in high school when I heard of this musical and knew it would be something I’d enjoy. Rock of Ages is on its 10th Anniversary Tour and they stopped by my sister’s school. It’s a fun show to watch and listen to.

2.) The Tea Dragon Society (Review

I love this little book and want to learn more about the world of Tea Dragons. It’s diverse, creative, and the drawings are some of the cutest I’ve seen.

3.) Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (Review

I had such a fun time playing through this episode. I didn’t realize how much fun it would be for me or else I would’ve watched it when it came out. I like the story and the acting is great.

4.) Avengers: Endgame (Review

I actually had a dream a few days before seeing the movie. There were parts from other Marvel movies, I think my brain made some up, but that’s how excited I was and the movie didn’t disappoint. I wish it was further up on the list, but I also can’t say why, like in my review. Overall, I’d see it again…probably will.

5.) The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2

I’ve never done a review for this show because I never know what to say. However, I preferred this season over last. Now that Sabrina is more in control of her abilities and we know the characters, I found myself caring about them more. However, I never liked the fact that they mix Satanism (I know they don’t call it that) and witchcraft, since it’s something people confuse as being the same, and they’re not.

Aside from that, I commend the diversity and for the show bringing a new side to Lilith. Learning more about her and seeing her change was one of my favorite parts of the season.

But they need to use Salem more.

6.) The Lost Coast (Review

The last review of the month. Every time there’s a book about witches and queer characters you can count me in. It’s diverse, the characters are likable, and the mystery surrounding it all keeps you reading.

Honorable Mentions

  • Cloak and Dagger (Season 2)
  • World of Dance
  • The Phantom Forest by Liz Kerin
  • No Place Like Here by Christina June
