I’m ready for the beach.
This is a much different post than I usually write, but since I still have two months until my family’s vacation (we usually go in the middle of June but since a coworker above me requested it first, we moved it to August) I was in the mood to do a travel post.
I’m also a little stuck when it comes to book/TV/movie reviews as I’m catching up with shows and starting new ones. There are some movies (Rocketman specifically) I want to see but haven’t had the time.
Maybe you also carry these with you or maybe they’ll inspire you for your next trip, but I did try to include some that are a little different.

Kubotan/Kubaton
I started carrying a kuboton a few years back when I wanted a knife for self-defense. I carried pepper spray in college but found it too bulky and a knife may take too long to get out. Kuboton’s are legal to carry (in the US) and are slim enough to fit in your bag. You can get one that’s pointed or not but are great to stab in the eye or neck and most come as keychains.

Squatty Potty (Portable)
When I discovered there are portable squatty potties I got so excited. I highly recommend squatty potties in general, going to the bathroom becomes so much better and easier, but when it came to traveling I always had issues. They basically lay flat, so you can put it on the bottom of your suitcase and it doesn’t take up much room.

Shower Cap
Since I’m someone who doesn’t have to wash their every day, and sometimes I dye the ends, it’s simple enough but also easy to carry. Sometimes it can be hard to maneuver in hotel showers and it can help save time.
Potpourri Spray Bottle
Especially if you’re traveling/staying with a lot of people. I don’t know if this one needs a huge explanation. There’s a lot of different brands that make travel-sized spray bottles.

Cloth Makeup Removers/Face Wipes
If you’re out late and don’t feel like washing your face a quick swipe of one of these can still save your face. Of course, the cloth is more environmentally friendly but it’s whatever you prefer.

Portable Water Filter
I already use one at home and even though I always recycle the water bottles I take when traveling, I’d rather just use my own water bottle. My mom discovered these when searching Amazon and they’re small enough to pack in your bag. One filter can last up to three months.

Honorable Mentions
- Probiotics (I like the gummy ones)
- Reusable water bottle
- Portable stain remover
- Power adapter
What items must you take while traveling?

I feel like those stabby things wouldn’t be legal in the UK… *looks it up* nope. Offensive weapon. Not legal to carry. (You’re not allowed to carry *anything* categorised as an offensive weapon – you can own them (in the case of guns, if you have a license,) but you can’t carry them around with you.)
Rocketman is awesome! I hope you get the chance to see it 🙂

I definitely feel safer carrying one around considering all the shit going on in the US but I understand.
And I hope to see it soon! Thanks for stopping by 😊
