How is the final season holding up?
I haven’t done a post like this in years but I want to get back to what I started my blog with, as in, just talking about whatever and not caring what people think.

I’ll be honest and say I haven’t continually watched Supernatural for the last few seasons. I kept up with the plot and what was going on but didn’t watch it every week like I used to. And that’s not surprising when a show runs this long, but it just didn’t pique my interest like it used to.
However, when the final season was announced, I wanted to keep up and watch it to the end.
And, not saying this is the official end. It could come back in like, three years, but I’m taking this as the final story of Sam and Dean, so I assumed season 15 would be huge with characters returning and Sam and Dean vs. God.
*And, of course, spoilers for everything up to this point. And all are my opinions.*
Sam and Dean vs The Monster at the End of this Book
Overall, for most parts, I’ve enjoyed this season, but after Rowena’s death, I wasn’t sure where the story would go. You see, I had this impression Chuck brought back all of the monsters Sam and Dean defeated just to screw with them because it’s Chuck, but he only opened the gates of hell.

I like how I said that in the most nonchalant way.
One of the common complaints about the show I’ve seen over the years is that the filler episodes can drag the season on and that’s how I feel about a few of them.
“Atomic Monsters,” bringing Becky back, having Chuck finish his story, the teenage vampire, and Jensen’s song debut was one of my favorite episodes.

But the one with the witches and Lilith…I just wanted the story with Chuck to progress. I know they were waiting for him to do something but with Dean, mad at Cas (again,) I wanted to move on.
By the way, is Lilith dead, again? Or did Michael send her away? I’m seriously asking.
The mid-season finale made up for the previous few episodes bringing Adam/Michael back, showing Rowena as Queen of Hell (because why wouldn’t she be?) and setting up for the final episodes. I hope Adam/Michael returns but I read the actor, Jake Abel, wasn’t sure if they’d be back.
What I Hope To See
At this point, I’m not sure where the story will go. I have a feeling they’ll lock Chuck away, but how they get there will be a surprise. I’m beyond curious to find out what Chuck wrote for an ending because at this point, what else can he do? Sure, he threatened all their living friends/allies, but what haven’t they been through so far?

I assume there will be more cameos/returns.
However, there is one thing I waited for all season and that’s Jack.

What the hell is going on with Jack? We know, at some point, he will be back because of the finale last season, but I thought, at the very end of the mid-season finale, they would cut to Jack.
I’m expecting a lot.
I’m also expecting a long “The Road So Far” at the end.
Overall
This wasn’t really a review, but if I had to give it a rating so far it would be:
Some of the filler episodes weren’t my favorite, but overall, I’m enjoying the season and can’t wait to see what happens.
If you kept up with the season, what do you think so far?

I used to be the BIGGEST fan of this series. I went to a convention and met the stars. I watched it obsessively…and then I just…stopped. And I don’t remember why or exactly where…it makes me sad to think about.
I feel like I’ll eventually get around to finishing the series…someday. Season 15 sounds like it’s about how I remember it being near when I quit.

I can relate to this with The Walking Dead. I met some of the cast but just stopped watching it as well.
And you are pretty much right. It does follow the same beats as a regular season: focus on the big bad for a few episodes, filler, filler, big bad, filler, then mid-season or season finale.
I was just expecting something different and big each episode.
I also hope I can catch up with other seasons as well, but it sucks when that happens. Thanks for stopping by x
