Top 6: Reasons Why I Love WandaVision

“Vision is made from vibranium, they literally inherited tough skin.”

I knew I would watch WandaVision. I just didn’t know how obsessed with the show I would become. Okay, not obsessed in the way I set my expectations too high. But I loved coming up with theories after every episode and keeping up with certain Youtube channels during the week.

In a time when nothing is going on in my life, it’s all I had to look forward to.

1.) I Can Connect To The Characters

I never felt connected to Wanda or Vision and didn’t get THAT upset in Infinity War . However, this show changed that. Vision is actually funny and Wanda is going through more mental turmoil than most. There’s also Darcy, Jimmy Woo, and Monica Rambeau who make a great trio. When they come back in the future, whatever movie/show that may be, I’ll be excited to see them again.

2.) It Shows Mental Health

Wanda’s stages of grief are so well-thought-out, but when we got to the depression episode I felt that a little too hard. This woman hasn’t felt peace since before her house blew up. She went from losing her parents, experimented on, to Age of Ultron and losing her brother, to (accidentally) killing people in Civil War, being on the run, and finally losing Vision. It’s really no surprise what happened, happened, and thankfully Monica is there to understand.

3.) Wanda and Vision

Like I said, in Infinity War I wasn’t the biggest fan of either character, but that’s only because they didn’t get enough screen time on their own. After watching WandaVision, I get their relationship and how well they work together. It wasn’t fair they didn’t get to be an actual couple living together without the fear of Wanda getting caught, but I’m glad we got them while we did.

4.) Witches/the Supernatural

I’m beyond excited for Marvel to move more into the supernatural territory, which is definitely where it’s headed after the Darkhold reveal. I know there were theories all over the place about who the big bad was during the show, but I bet one, if not more, will show up in Doctor Strange 2. Heading into the multiverse is bound to bring forth beings like Mephisto or Nightmare. I feel WandaVision is a good way to ease into that.

5.) It’s Different

Going into the show, I had no idea what was going on, but I loved the different sitcoms every week. I loved going onto Youtube and watching people’s reactions and reading their theories. It was such a fun experience to go through with other people. I was beyond careful each week to not go on Twitter until I watched the episode. I didn’t want to grasp onto any theory TOO hard (except when Paul talked about a big cameo…)

6.) Billy and Tommy

Give me Wiccan and Speed in Doctor Strange 2 or I will throw something. I cannot begin to describe how much I love these two. From their first episode and growing up ten years, I wanted to adopt them myself. And this show made me care too much because when I realized they would disappear with everything else inside the hex I bawled. There’s a lot of potential for their characters, especially if they’re setting up the Young Avengers, and Billy is such a huge LGBTQ character. We need more representation.

  • It focused more on character development rather than action and personally, sometimes you need a break from that

What I Didn’t Like

1.) Fietro aka Ralph

Do I even need to explain this one? I GET what they wanted to do with Evan Peters, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Like everyone, I expected this to be the X-Men crossover. And it wasn’t too bad until they revealed he was Ralph…that felt like the nail in the coffin for me.

What Do I Do Now?

Well, I’m watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier now, but I did feel a little lost after the last episode. I got a lot out of this show, so I was pretty sad it had to end. And with Doctor Strange 2 being so far away, it’s going to be a long year.

Despite a few nitpicks, I genuinely enjoyed this show. I think ten episodes would’ve really helped with a few loose ends…like Senor Scratchy.

What did you think of WandaVision?

I love this! I didn’t know that I was going to get into WandaVision at first, but my husband was dead set on watching it ASAP. That being said, once I started watching I was totally hooked. I couldn’t get enough… The only thing I didn’t like? How quickly it was over lol
