August 2019 Roundup + Favorites

A recap of my favorites this month.

August didn’t even feel like a month.

Recap

Out of all the months so far this year, this one went by faster for me than others. For the first 10 days, I was waiting to start vacation, then for the next 10 days was on vacation, and now the last 11 days feel like they happened in another universe.

A good example of this would be this week. My dog, Luna, got a parasite from eating rabbit poo (lovely) but before that, she was miserable from seasonal allergies and had to get a shot. So most of this week has been dedicated to helping Luna feel better and not much else got accomplished.

But at least she’s starting to act like herself again.

Let’s see…someone stole my credit card and tried to use it in Georgia, so I had to get a new one. That was fun.

I wanted to go to the local drive-in at some point, but they never showed anything I wanted to see (i.e. the Disney remakes.)

And that was August.

Goals for September

  • get back to working out 5 days a week
  • post two days a week
  • finish editing my book (this is probably the 10th time I’m reading through it)
  • meditate before bed (I really need to start doing this again)
  • just get through work because right now we’re the most shorthanded we’ve been since I started working there and as we’re hiring more people it’s a bit stressful and I just need to get through a few weeks

Favorites

1.) Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseΒ

I’m so glad I finally got around to watching this one. I thought the animation was amazing, loved getting a different Spider-Man story through Miles, and (spoilers) actually cried during Peter Parker’s death.

2.) The Dead Girls ClubΒ

This book is told back and forth between the present and past as a woman named Heather is going on with her life until someone starts stalking and sending her items in the mail, indicating they know what Heather did all those years ago: she killed her best friend.

The book gets creepy from time-to-time and even though the ending didn’t wrap up as nicely as I wish it would’ve and things just come out of nowhere, it was a fun read and a good mystery.

What’s To Come

I am apart of a book tour next month and hope to see IT: Chapter 2 when it comes out. I want to buckle down on my book and start prepping to publish, whether it be messaging people for book covers or formatting.

Some other fun news: my blog is currently 8 followers away from 700! By the time this posts, it could be above that so, yay. I appreciate and thank anyone who actually reads these posts. Be on the lookout for a giveaway soon as I’m working with an author to promote their new journal.

Good luck to everyone and their September goals.

I’m so happy you got to go on vacation! But I’m sorry about Luna! Poor thing! I’m glad she’s feeling better though ❀ Ugh, I've had that happen to me before. My credit card was stolen and someone used it to buy a really expensive airplane ticket in Thailand! They even bought some popcorn before the flight. I literally had to shake my head at that. And I've been dying to read the Dead Girls Club! I'll have to put it on hold at my library after reading your recommendation.
Great post and wrap up of August! I hope September is even better for you! (And it sounds like it'll be eventful!)

Thanks Emily! Luna’s doing a lot better and acting like herself again. I was lucky they didn’t use my card for anything but wow a plain ticket and popcorn πŸ˜„

I’m ready for September to be a better month. Good luck with all your goals ❀
