The Real Neat Blog Award

I’d like to send a huge thanks to my friend Emily @ThatWeirdGirlLife for nominating me for The Real Neat Blog Award.

If you haven’t checked out her blog before, get on that because she posts about all kinds of topics that are personal and fun and she’s super cool.

Emily’s Questions

1.) If you could live anywhere in the world (besides the place you’re currently living), where would you live?

Anywhere near a beach. It doesn’t need to be a place that’s hot every day of the year, but just so I can be near the ocean.

2.) What’s a guilty pleasure movie/show/book/food/activity you like to indulge in?

If I’m in the mood to play The Sims, I could do it all day, but I try not to do that very often. As for food, any kind of dessert like cheesecake or pie.

3.) What’s a cause that you are passionate about?

There’s a bunch I’m pretty passionate about but animal rights are a big one whether it’s getting rid of big game hunting, poaching, or conservation. Taking care of the planet in general.

4.) What’s something about blogging that annoys you?

I know people say, “Numbers aren’t everything,” but when you work hard on a post, maybe over a few days or weeks, and it just doesn’t do well when it comes to views. That you put in all that effort and you feel like no one wants to read it.

Also, WordPress because it keeps messing up the dates of my posts. So I could post something on March 19 but it will say it posted March 15?

5.) If your life had a theme song, what song would it be?

“Dream On” by Aerosmith put me to sleep when I was a baby so I kind of just use it for everything.

However, there is a small band I discovered in college, Paradise Fears, whose song “Battle Scars” is one of my favorites ever and helped get me through those shitty few years.

6.) Do you believe in ghosts, and if so, have you ever seen one?

I do. I believe our energy just doesn’t disappear when we die and maybe even parts of it can linger, even if most of it moved on, or maybe all of it is stuck. And I believe that can be good or bad, or positive and negative.

But, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person. I think I’ve had some strange experiences like hearing or feeling things (I ran out of a notoriously haunted wax museum as a kid because I felt something was very off. And no, I didn’t know it was haunted until I was older.)

HOWEVER, I did take a picture at Gettysburg one time and in it is the outline of what appears like a person. No one in my family can debunk it. It’s on the outside of a battlefield next to the forest. I’d post it if I could find it.

7.) What does your perfect day off look like?

Sleeping in an extra fifteen minutes (those extra minutes matter), spend the morning writing or reading blog posts, journaling, get in an early workout and take my dog on a walk if it’s nice, take a bath, and spend the rest of the day reading or watching a show or playing The Sims.

Or it could be a day my family and I go to Pittsburgh to shop.

My Nominations

My Questions

  1. What is your favorite streaming service? If you don’t have any, what’s your favorite channel to watch? Or, you can answer both.
  2. What’s a song you’re embarrassed to say you like? (We won’t judge.)
  3. How would you describe yourself as a child?
  4. And what were your favorite toys/things to do?
  5. What is your favorite dog breed?
  6. If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do with it?
  7. Would you rather be a hero or a villain for a day?

Again, thank you, Emily! I had a lot of fun and haven’t done an award post in a while so this was such a nice change-up.

Yay! Thank you for doing the tag and thank you for the lovely shout out! You’re so sweet! 🙂

I loved reading all of your answers! Your perfect day off sounds soooooo nice and relaxing. And it would be amazing to live by the beach! Falling asleep to the waves sounds so heavenly. Screw white noise, you’d have literal ocean noises! And I totally get that about blogging numbers. You can work the hardest on a post, put so much of yourself into it (especially if it’s a really personal piece), but if it’s not eye-catching or trendy, people don’t read it. That’s how most of my blog posts have been lately. It’s pretty frustrating!

And if you do find that picture of the maybe ghost from Gettysburg, please post it ASAP along with the story with it!! I’m not sure I believe in ghosts, but I kind of want to believe…? If that make sense. Either way, I love a good ghost story!!

Thank you again for doing this and answering my questions! Your answers were so much fun to read! Basically, this whole post was so much fun to read! 🙂

I find it to be more fun believing in those types of things 🙂 Although, if I didn’t have that experience when I was little, I’m not sure what I’d think now. But I can still remember most of it.

And that picture is somewhere within my mom’s thousands that are on a memory card which I haven’t looked at in years, but one of these days I’ll have to find it.

Thank you for the tag and reading ❤️
